Most creditors appreciate it if you keep them in the loop if you are having problems. I find that it is easier if you tell them what is going on instead of hiding when the phone rings. Many times they will try to help because it does no good for them if you default.
Always try to be up front and say what is going on you might be surprised at the outcome.
