We are in the middle of a heat wave, yes a heat wave in October in London. What does one do in an unseasonable heatwave? I immediately reach for my slow cooker. Slow cookers do not heat up the kitchen the way a traditional oven does so until the heat breaks, my oven will remain off and the slow cooker on.
Monday – Easy Ratatouille – started on the stove finished in the slow cooker.
Tuesday – Pasta with peppers and mozzarella
Wednesday – Slow cooker pulled pork
Thursday – Spinach salad with dried cranberries and pan fried chicken thighs.
Friday – Omelette filled with Monday’s ratatouille and goat’s cheese.
I hope you have a great week and the weather figures itself out. Hello it is October not July.

I find that the slow cooker gives off a lot of heat too–it’s not as hot as the oven, but the slow cooker has no thermostat so it’s constantly on. But unlike the oven, you can put the slow cooker in a room you’re not using. Hope your heat wave is over soon.
Hi Hannah, thanks for commenting. I believe my slow cooker has a thermostat since it has four settings and does not produce much heat.
