I know we are all supposed to be cutting back BIG time in this Credit Crunch addled world. What if you just can’t bear to give up your beloved high end products? Ebay to the rescue! Yes you heard correctly, you can buy all sorts of fancy, fabulous products on Ebay.
I buy extra large size MOP shampoo and conditioner, 1000ml for £24.95 when in the salon a 250ml bottle of shampoo only is £10.95. That is less than a quarter of the price! Even with the shipping cost it is still a bargain. The other advantages of shopping on line and in large quantities, is you only need to buy shampoo 2 or 3 times a year, no having to go to the shop and be tempted by all the other enticing items.
The key to buying on Ebay is knowing what you are buying and how much it costs in your regular shopping venue. Once you know what you need and how much it should cost, you are armed and prepared to save the Ebay way. Just be sure to set your highest bid and don’t go beyond it.
The other essential in shopping the Ebay way is you need to plan. You can’t wait until you are at your last drop of shampoo before you buy it since there is the delay of having it posted, you might need to wait until the auction has finished which can be as long as 10 days and what if your preferred brand is not available all the time.
I keep an eye on all my supplies so when they are getting to about the halfway mark I do my search on Ebay and if the search proves unfruitful then I save the search. When you save a search Ebay will send you an email whenever the product you are looking for is listed then you just have to follow the link and you are shopping the Ebay way.
What fabulous things have I bought on Ebay you may ask –?
• designer cosmetics (you must know what colour you want, this is not the time for experimenting)
• perfume
• Egyptian Cotton bed linens
• very expensive face cream (the kind you gasp at the price)
So who said you have to use nappy (diaper) cream on your face because of the Credit Crunch? Live a little.
I have a love/hate relationship with Ebay. I have gotten many great things, such as a Kate Spade purse for $20, shoes and clothes. So I have saved lots of money, however it also allows me to spend when I really shouldn’t.
Great post!
you should try ezsniper – it bids for you in the last 5 seconds. its brilliant. am buying my baby’s clothes this way. why spend £30 when you can spend 99p I say…..
would love to know which bedlinens you got. am such a fan of good bedlinen – but it seems out of reach at the moment…..
