Last weeks, £10 dinner for a week challenge went extremely well, so well that I am treating my beloved to steak tonight then back on the tightwad trail.
Monday – Steak with potato gratin (89p from Lidl) and salad
Tuesday – Pasta con Broccoli – super easy, super cheap and healthy
Wednesday – Roast Chicken with vegetables and new potatoes
Thursday – Black bean smothered sweet potatoes using Hungry Bear’s black bean recipe
Friday – Chicken burritos
Saturday – Mushroom risotto made with chicken stock. Mushrooms are in season.
Pssst – The Lean Times are launching a cooking class in Central London -watch this space or if you are super keen, email – [email protected].
Steaks sounds really good right now. We’ve been only purchase meat when it’s under $2.
Hi Rona, Thanks for commenting. I must say steak has not been on our table for quite a while. This steak was on sale and it was a special meal for my beloved. And it was on sale, not as cheap as $2 but not much is that cheap here in London.
I hope you will keep reading and commenting.
I’m so worried about the way our children are headed in nowadays. Watching Jamie Olivers food revolution on tv scared the thingies out of me. I suggest we all start cooking some Healthy Recipe like these at home if we’re going to fix this horrible situation. The ones on that site seem pretty easy, I tried last night and it’s the first time my family has eaten well in so long, I just feel great.
